No, ConsoleMAD is just a little hobby site that I run from home. However, I try to offer a service on par with other, bigger stores.
The site is based in the UK.
Although I used to ship internationally, currently the site is UK-only. This may change in the future, but there is a chance that this could be a permanent change due to the extra complexities caused by Brexit and my other commitments away from the site.
Currently, I'm trying to update the shop part of the website every two weeks. Due to other work commitments, this may vary.
The easiest way to never miss out on site updates is to follow the site.
I accept Paypal and Stripe as the main method of payment. Stripe allows for the use of most credit and debit cards.
There are usually two reasons why an order confirmation email hasn't come through -
- an incorrect email address has been specified during the ordering process
- the email has gone into a spam folder
If you cannot find your order confirmation email in your spam folder, just contact me and I will check the email address used on the order, correct any errors and re-send you the confirmation email.
Once an order has been posted, you will receive a further email, so if you do not receive this email either, it's a good sign that an incorrect email address has been used.
Postage is calculated based on Royal Mail's own prices plus a small amount to cover my packaging costs.
There are also flat-rate courier options for heavier orders.
As this site is primarily focused on retro games, virtually all of the items on the site are pre-owned. I do occasionally have some unused items and some of the modern games are in mint condition but it's rare.

Yes. Everything you see in the shop part of the site is for sale and available. If someone places an order for something, the shopping cart software automatically removes it from the site stock to prevent someone else ordering it. So, at any one time, there may be the occasional item showing as unavailable as that means I'm currently processing an order for it - everything else though I have to hand.
No. The online shop has a guest checkout option. However, it's important that you enter your email address correctly to ensure that you receive your order confirmation email.
