In recent weeks, I’ve not been 100% happy with the way the shopping cart calculates postage costs, specifically for orders placed outside the UK, so I’ve spent this weekend looking into it.
Postage costs are based on the weight of an order, plus 50p to go towards my packaging costs. This works just fine with UK orders, and all the testing I’ve done there seems to give the right results. However, when I’ve used locations outside the UK, it seemed to return rather inflated prices. As I want to keep things as fair as possible, I thought I’d see if there was anything I could do about it. So today I’ve implemented a different way of determining the shipping costs now, which should produce fairer results now, particularly for heavier orders. And for orders between 2-6kg, there is a new courier option. which again should keep the costs down.
I may still need to refine things a little more as I do further testing, but I hope you find that the shipping prices are fairer now. If you encounter any issues during the checkout process, please let me know and I will investigate them for you.
